2 cups of bajra floor
2 cups of water
1. Take 2 cups of water and bring it to boil. The moment the water starts to simmer pour the the 2 cups of Bajra in the boiling water.
2. Adjust the stove to “sim” and do not mix the Bajra with the water. Just leave it like that.
3. Now After 2 minutes turn off your gas and get then mix the floor thoroughly. (If you feel you need to add some more Bajra floor you can add it. But if you want to add more water then you need add hot water.)
4. Now allow the dough to cool down (10 minutes)
5. Then roll them into small balls
6. When rolling them out into circular shapes puff/dust them with try Bajra floor
7. Now place it on the hot pan.
8. Use a cloth to press it on all sides and then keep changing the sides of the chapati. (You can use your hand, but cloth is a better option)
9. Optionally you can also add/spread some oil on the chapti to get the Paratha effect.

in general no. But we would suggest moderation. Please make the change over to Bajra roti gradually. Some dieticians advocate an increasing proportion of bajra flour mixed in when preparing roti. Some dieticians do not recommend mixing flours, but rather having an increasing proportion of bajra roti within a meal. A gradual transition is something that most dieticians agree on. And start with Bajra rotis in winter … one appreciates it more when its cold outside !

It is made immediately. Millet dough is not stored in the fridge.

Thanks for your simple and easy method. I always thought Bajra Ka roti is something a great North Indian expensive item and I use to pay a heavy price in expensive restaurants.

I believe that avoiding processed foods is a first step in order to lose weight. They might taste very good, but processed foods have very little vitamins and minerals, making you take more simply to have enough vigor to get throughout the day. For anyone who is constantly consuming these foods, changing to whole grains and other complex carbohydrates will assist you to have more vigor while feeding on less. Great blog post.

I have seen the bajra grains and they are usually a greyish colour, your rice looks pretty white is it the same thing or is foxtail millet and pearl millet something different.

I think the colour of the pictures in the bajra recipe could just be due to the lighting.
Foxtail millet and pearl millet are different types of millets. Foxtail is more yellow in colour and the grains are the size of mustard seeds.

Foxtail millet is yellowish in colour. The white rice would be Little millet. Pearl and Foxtail are different.
